My Brother and I

My Brother and I

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Good bye to all my new friends hope to see you in future classes and hope to keep in touch by blogging. Be live it or not since I started at Kaplan this has been one of the most fun courses but one of the hardest. Please be kind when reviewing my paper I was drugged heavily for the last of it and I really did mostly start over. It is a subject I am passionate over, seeing I suffer from severe PTSD. I really wish I had been diagnosed at an earlier age so I didn't have to waste so much of my life living in fear. I know this sounds Corny but I have come to love y'alls company and camaraderie. I am crying right now as a matter of fact and will miss each and everyone of you!!! All the best!!! Laura J

  1. Hello Laura,

I think PTSD is more common than anyone would imagine. We all suffer traumas in life to some degree. It seems natural that we would feel the after effects for some time and that they would affect our lives. This is being human. It is only when they interfere with the quality of our lives that we need help with them, I think.

When I consider my life traumas and how they have affected me, I immediately think about those whose traumas are worse. I think about the people of Haiti and all my sufferings seem minute in comparison. Words cannot even express what traumas the survivors must endure.

I feel the blogging feature really has brought a more personal touch for students. I hope many of you stay in touch and continue to strive to be the best health care professionals you can possibly be. We need you!

    Thanks,
