Hello all!! Done with surgery and all went well thank you all for your prayers!! I'm not feeling the best so this will be a short post, I miss all of you but am glad for the break in school. LOL Need more sleep see ya'll later!!

I'm feeling a lot better about my surgery next week the pity party is over. It just has to be done. Working hard on my thesis and trying to get as much done as possible!! It's fun and very informative hope you all like it!!! Laura J

Well can't put off my surery again going to have it during the Christmas Break. Was supposed to go to TX to visit my family but the airline will let me change the date for a fee. I will be down for aprox 120 days after but hope I can finish the semester from my bed. I'm pretty upset but then at least it will be over with and I can get better for good. Had to go back to the surgeon today and it looks like things are getting bad again... I am so distraught. I just want to get better and I am doing everything right and it doesn't seem to be going my way. Well enough of the pity party. I will get better, I will get better!! lol please put me in your prayers and pray no more hospital can't afford the time off school or the deductibles either!! lol Thanks for following my blog and good luck to all. Plagiarism

This weeks post is on plagiarism and APA citations. How would you feel if you spent a lot of time and energy on writing a thesis and someone stole your work and ideas? I know I would be very angry and feel run over. People work hard to come up with ideas and papers to educate or change the way something is done. I know if I came up with a new way to do something that made things easier I would want to let people know to make their jobs easier but would be furious if someone took credit for my idea. The same goes for taking the time to spend researching a thesis or paper and someone stole my words to use as if they were theirs.
With as many ways as there are to cite someones words or ideas those being a direct quotation, paraphrasing, or summary statements there really is no need to plagerize someone. As difficult as it may be to get the citations in the correct order, we can all learn how, and be lawful trustworthy people. Good luck with all of our papers and quiz this week!! Well this blog is on Research, Citations, and Plagiarism.There are three different ways to use APA citations that can help you not to plagiarise that I have learned in my reading this week and hope we all use them!! Summary where you summarize the authors words then give credit to the author in parenthesis. Same with paraphrasing you paraphrase what you read then cite the author in parenthesis after. Then a direct quotation. Where you directly quote the author and put what they say in quotaion marks. We can all do this easily and keep our papers clean and tidy for our professor to read and learn what we all want to say in our thesis.

Hello all!!! Thanksgiving was a big hit! Everyone loved the feast I made and especially the pies.
I am feeling kinda puny still but cooking was no problem because I love it so much and I love to see people eat. I didn't get much school work done but am back to the grindstone now! See you all in class and in discussion! Laura J

Well this blog is on Writing a thesis statement and critical thinking. I am very lucky to be a critical thinker normally I know I can get better at it but I have a great base to work from. As far as my thesis statement I am still trying to decide between PTSD and Children of abuse and PTSD and children of deployed military parents. I think the later would be easier but who wants easy right? lol
I am doing better from my surgery but I am still in a lot of pain and still sitting on my old lady donut...LOL It's a beautiful day here I hope all are as lucky to have a great and beautiful Turkey Day!! Lots of good luck and cheer to all.. Laura J.

This blog is supposed to be on Critical thinking and Thesis statement. I think I am getting the hang of this. My critical thinking skills are very tuned in because of working in customer service so long you have to think on your feet and I feel I do that very well. As for my Thesis statement I have chosen PTSD and abused children. I might go into Deployment PTSD in children, depends on my library searches I don't want to depend on just a couple articles for either. Well see you all in seminar. Laura Juracka

Well had to go back to the hospital and get more IV antibiotics thank goodness didn't have to stay the night but it was an all day process. Tired of it now just want this thing to go away so I can have it surgically removed at the end of this semester...
I love being an online student and don't want anything getting in the way of it. This has gotten me behind in both of my classes and I being such a perfectionist it has me very discouraged. I got 2 A's in my classes last semester and that doesn't seem possible this semester. I cried myself to sleep last night and am breaking up now so I will let you all go. Just got home from my volunteer work and again a rewarding day!! I am feeling better and have lowered the pain killers to almost nothing so the nausea has almost gone. I have been on the library site almost constant and have printed out about 4 articles that seem to be worthwhile in my topic. Hope everyone is having as good a luck as I am... Hello everyone just waiting for class to start. The reading this week was interesting the formal reading was really hard to get through.
I am feeling a lot better today thank goodness, I was in a lot of pain. The wound care still hurts really bad but I am getting better.

Well my wound got really infected so I had to spend 2 days in the hospital getting IV antibiotics. No fun and I am in a lot of pain. Hope this week it gets better and that classes go well. See you all in class and good luck! Laura J.

Well I had a small outpatient surgery yesterday and I am in a lot of pain today. It hurts to even sit at my computer. I hope the pain eases up in a couple days. I have to have a major surgery as soon as this semester is over. I'm a little scared but I have a great surgeon. Well have a great day all!! Laura J.

New Classes.

Starting new classes is always difficult. Starting a blog is worse because I have never had one! LOL I'm a 41 yr old woman with A 20 yr old son. I live in Boise, ID and love it! I am thinking about moving to Texas in the next few years. I really want to succeed in life and my major, Medical Office Management. Well here is my first ever blog!!
